The difference between quiet and quite

  • quiet is an adjective and it is the opposite of loud
    • “Please be quiet. The baby is asleep.”
    • Quiet! The police is around the corner!”
  • The word quite is an adverb and it means roughly the same as very
    • “Your lemonade tastes quite good!”
    • “She was quite excited when she found this website.”

You cannot mix them up!
